Serial #40567, .22 S,L,LR, 24 inch octagon barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is the Savage Model 1914 pump action, tube magazine, takedown rifle produced from 1914 to 1926. The barrel and mag tube show about 80-85% of the original thinning blue with silvering on the high edges and some scattered spots of freckling and a tool mark just above the Model number on the top flat. The frame shows about 45-50% mottled blue that is toning to plum-brown. The stock and forearm are both solid with several old stable cracks at the wrist with scattered old use marks. It is well marked on the barrel and tang with the large Savage "Indian" logo on the steel butt plate. The action functions properly with a tight lock up and tight fit between the barrel and frame pieces. Is is sighted with the correct Savage adjustable rear and bead front sights. FFL or C&R
