This Savage 99 G Takedown was manufactured in 1928. Apart from light blue wear on the high points and a little flaking in the blue on the leading edge of the trigger guard this gun has a fantastic amount of finish on it. There is even a large amount of varnish on the case colors of the lever remaining. The only real appologies on the gun would be light blue wear at the muzzel and on the barrel from handeling, two compression marks on the left side of the schnaubel forend and some possible re-varnishing of the buttestock, although if it was done it was done a long time ago and done well. The original butteplate remains. The bore is bright with very strong lands and grooves. A very nice old Savage in a great sporting caliber.
