Offered here and just acquired is perhaps the finest ALL-IN-ONE COMPLETE package involving A savage Model 6 DELUXE .22 Rifle in RARE ORIGINAL FACTORY BOX.
The Savage Model 6 is a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle originally made by Savage Arms (and earlier under Stevens Arms). It’s essentially the Savage version of the Stevens Model 87 rimfire line.
These rifles were chambered for .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle rimfire cartridges. It features a 24″ barrel, tubular magazine under the barrel, basic iron sights, and a walnut or stained wood stock. The design is a straight-blowback semi-auto — simple, reliable, and effective for plinking or small game shooting.
These low cost rifles typically are not found in original factory boxes. It is RARE to find one in this condition and complete. The deluxe version of the Model 6 as stamped on box denotes usually nicer trim compared to basic versions —  better wood grain/finish and higher quality sights.
An original rare factory box significantly enhances collectible value, especially for the Stevens/Savage arms collector. it includes original packing materials, instructions, factory hang tag, inspectors packing paper and marketing safety tip flyer.  Collectors often value original boxes as much as the firearm itself in rare cases and in this case so much so.
Many older Savage/Stevens rimfire rifles lack a stamped serial number, especially if manufactured before 1968, when U.S. federal law first required serialization of long guns. Older Model 6 rifles are known to be takedown capable as this one as well.
The Model 6 line (including variations like 6, 6A, 6B, and “Deluxe” trims) was produced for many decades before being phased out; total numbers are high, but unfired collectors’ specimens with original boxes are rare.
Again a wonderful piece for the collector of Savage arms or for that matter any American arms collector.
