Sharps Model 1863 Conversion Carbine 50-70 caliber
Description:
This is a Sharps New Model 1863 carbine that was converted to 50-70 caliber in the late 1860's. This is a carbine that could have been used in the Civil War and the Indian Wars. It is in very good condition with a three grove 22 inch barrel. The bore has strong rifling with some very light pitts in the first few inches of the barrel with the remander being clear with sharp clean rifling. The barrel has traces of the original blue and is turning brown and the finish on the wood is long gone. The action is in excellent working condition. The rear sight is the correct Lawrence sight. A good, shootable example of a Civil and Indian war carbine.
