Semi Custom C. Sharps Model 1875 .40-65
Description: This beautiful C. Sharps model 1875 left the shop in 1990 as a semi-custom special order in .45-70 stocked in Presentation Grade wood with shotgun butt and German Silver Hartford forestock tip. At some point, it was returned and rebarreled in .40-65 with a 30.5" heavy half octagon, half round barrel. Coned muzzle and excellent bore. Bright shiny chamber. Sights consist of a globe front and midrange vernier tang sight. There is no rear barrel sight. The rifle is in overall excellent condition. The only real flaw in finish are some rub marks on sides of barrel (safe rash?) And some minor impressions on stock. I suspect that like most of these rifles, it has spent its life locked in a gun safe. Shame. Using the C. Sharps , I calculated that this rifle would cost somewhere in the $3200-$3500 range to have built today, with a 2-3 year wait + Sales tax. Asking $2500 + Shipping. SOLD |
