SHILOH SHARPS, BIG TIMBER, MONTANA MADE 1874 HARTFORD SPORTER, .50-90 CALIBER. The Hartford Model came standard with pewter forend tip and Hartford collar on the barrel at the receiver end and double set triggers. This one features a 30” heavy octagon barrel fitted with their filler kit for the rear sight dovetail and screw hole- easily removed for rear sight placement. This one also has the optional traditional checkered steel shotgun butt plate, bone charcoal pack harden case color finish, polished and fire blued screws along with a Montana Vintage Arms #113 spirit level globe front sight that will accept inserts (easily and inexpensively obtained from MVA) as well as an MVA tang sight base that will accept any MVA staff. It also comes with two factory new Lawrence ladder rear sights (semi-buckhorn and full-buckhorn). The standard walnut is a rich reddish/brown straight grain. Weighs right at about 12 lbs. This one was built like an early to mid-1870s Sharps buffalo rifle. The .50 2 ½” straight cartridge (.50-90) is a great and historical caliber known as “The Big Fifty.” This rifle appears little, if at all, used and appears about like new. The current factory price for this rifle with the above described options would be right at about $4,000. with a 2 ½ year back order wait with probable price increases. My price on this one is $3450.
