Description:
Sharps 1874 Heavy barrel. Made in 1879. This gun letters with its 34” barrel weighing 23¾” pounds! This is the heaviest Sharps offered. This gun was shipped to James Dodds in Dayton Ohio who was a firearms dealer. Dodds was ordering these for a shooting club in the area. Caliber on this gun is .40-70 straight cased or 40 and 2½”. Gun is excellent! 90% of the original blue is on the barrel. Very fine case colors are on the frame. Bore is excellent. Gun has double set triggers and letters as seen. Tang sight is a period sight. Front sight is well done replacement. Along with this gun comes a factory letter by Dr. Labowskie confirming all features. We originally purchased this gun about 10 miles from where it was originally shipped to a family. Very neat heavy target gun!
