Indian Wars Sharps Carbine Converted from a Civil War New Model .50/70 Centerfire caliber carbine. This gun has the cam-type firing pin (called by some collectors the Model 1868) and original six-groove bore in excellent condition. The metal has a smooth brown patina. The stocks are good. The butt stock has an approximately 2” stress crack on the left starting at the buttplate. The DFC in ribbon conversion cartouche is on the left side of the butt stock, which was replaced at the time of conversion as evident by the patch box cut-out on the butt plate. Action functions correctly, sling bar with ring and correct sights are present. This Indian War Sharps carbine undoubtedly saw action.
