Very RARE with only 500 made!
Here we present an antique Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Army Carbine. The total number of the Army Carbine was only 500! Made from 1862-65, the bulk of production including the more numerous Navy Carbine was still only 8,000. These are seldom encountered Civil War carbines.
The shape of the carbine is distinctly Sharps, and operates a bit differently than other carbines of the era. The trigger guard doubles as a lever, which is opened by pressing a small tab inside the smaller loop of the lever. Opening the lever slides the barrel away from the recoil shield for loading and unloading. It has a great elevating rear sight and brass butt-plate.
This specimen is in fine condition. The walnut stock shows just a little handling. The steel frame and barrel are in fantastic condition, being smooth and with a very nice patina. Bore is fine.

Barrel is round and 24 inches in length.
Caliber: .52 rimfire
Bore is in excellent condition and the firearm is in fine working order.
