MEACHUM CONVERSION HEAVY BARREL BUFFALO OR SPORTING RIFLE IN .45 2 7/8
Description: .45 2 7/8" caliber, 30" heavy full octagon barrel. 1874 falling block action with plain forend a checkered straight grip buttstock ending with a steel rifle buttplate. Front sight a replacement, the rear sights missing. Excellent mint bore with sharp rifling. The barrel showing some blue mixing with a pleasing plum patina and smooth surfaces. Very nice visible legend and "OLD RELIABLE" stamps on the top flat. The receiver having mottle case colors mixing with gray. Very fine wood with only minor handling marks and some wear to the checkering. Overall very pleasing. Weight 11 lbs 7 oz. Manufactured from Civil War actions by E.C Meachum, St Louis and often purchased for use out west. Having heavy barrels in large calibers. Antique: Yes Price: $5,750.00 Contact Seller |
