SHARPS MODEL 1874 SPORTING RIFLE
Description:
Marked "Old Reliable" and "Bridgeport Connecticut". 30 inch octagon barrel. Original front sight and correct flip up rear sight. Very good bright shiny bore with sharp rifling and strong lands. 40 caliber 2-5/8. Barrel has an aged finish that looks good but could be cleaned if you like. Wood is good with a fair amount of original varnish. There is a crack in the wrist area that has a repair with a screw going through it. Gives the gun a contemporary look. The lock plate is mostly a nickel color with some traces of case color visible. Steel buttplate. An attractive buffalo rifle complete with set triggers.
