Sharps New Model 1859 Carbine converted to .50-70, Ser. C 115XX.

The condition of this 1859 is really quite nice. The barrel has acquired a very smooth silver gray patina totally devoid of any rust or pits. The barrel band and the trigger guard have about 90% of blue. The receiver and hammer appear to have about 70% of their original case colors. The left side of the receiver still has the some of the original patent information and the rear sight is stamped with the Lawrence factory name. The walnut stock and forearm are in super condition with no nicks, dings or splits. They retain about 80% 0f the original lacquer. The buttplate is without rust or flaking and appear to have most of the original case colors. The action is tight and functions correctly. The bore is awesome. The rifling is very sharp and crisp with just a slightest hint of graying. A really lovely condition and modestly priced Sharps Civil War era Carbine ....$1495.
