Sharps New Model Metallic Cartridge Conversion Carbine .50-70 with Original Barrel having the 6 groove bore.
Description: Antique Civil War Sharps New Model Metallic Cartridge Conversion Carbine in .50-70 that has the original barrel with the 6 groove bore. Manufactured in 1860's. Bore is in typical black powder usage condition and could use a good cleaning however it should make a great shooter. Lands and grooves still present. The 22" original barrel has been sanded by the previous owner so most of the barrel markings are no longer present. Barrel has had cold bluing applied for appearance. Action is smooth and tight. It functions fine just as it should. Overall condition good as an antique collectible especially in light of being nearly 160 years old. Very collectible Civil War Gun. Carbine should be checked by a qualified gunsmith prior to use. Insured shipping is included in the purchase price.
