As most know, I've been a Shiloh dealer since the 1990s. In all that time this is only the second time a customer has placed a custom order and then failed to pay upon completion. He has forfeited his deposit, so his loss is your gain! I am deducting a full $1,000 off the price he would have paid. No. 1 Sporter (pistol grip, shotgun butt, cheek piece, double set triggers standard), .40-70 Sharps Straight (2 1/2" case) caliber, 30" standard octagon barrel with no rear sight dovetail, semi-fancy walnut with AA finish, accent line on the cheek piece, brass escutcheons, polished barrel, polished/fire-blued screws, checkered steel butt plate, pewter tip, 1 in 14" special twist will accept heavy bullets, rifle is mounted with Montana Vintage Arms Long Range Soule tang sight, #113 spirit level globe front sight with inserts, Hadley eye disc, all brand new with warranty cards from Shiloh and MVA. Total price of rifle plus sights with Federal Excise Tax, Shiloh provided case, oversize UPS shipping etc. would have been $5768.35. With the $1,000 deduction leaves a total delivered price of $4768.35. Shiloh is currently in a 2 1/2 year back order situation. Considering wait time and probable price increases, this one is a bargain.
