This authentic model has been unavailable for a number of years and is now difficult to find. This example is in new, unfired condition. The previous owner stated he ordered it, too delivery and never fired it. It has polished blue 30” barrel and a bit nicer than standard grade walnut with a rich dark reddish-brown color. Case colored receiver, butt plate, lever, hammer and barrel bands. Fitted with a heavy leather military sling that also shows no wear. Original Lawrence ladder rear sight. From a historical standpoint, many 1874 Military Rifles like this made it to the buffalo hunting plains where they were as effective as the big sporters, but cost less for the hunter. Many original Military Rifles "letter" to Kansas, Colorado, Texas and Montana. In the condition that it left the Shiloh factory.
