Description: THE LAST OF THE SPECIAL, NON-CATALOGUED SHILOH SHARPS, BIG TIMBER, MONTANA 1874 SPORTING CARBINES! For a number of years I asked Shiloh to make a special run of Sporting Carbines for me. Finally they did. Twenty were made and this is the very last one. This one in .45-70 caliber has a 22 inch round carbine barrel combined with a sporting forend with pewter tip and double set triggers. It is fitted with a select dark walnut stock showing a nice grain pattern. It also has a Lawrence ladder rear sight, and the tang is drilled and tapped for any tang sight you might want to fit. At 8 1/2 lbs, the sporting carbine has enough heft to handle recoil along with the handiness of a carbine length sporter with double set triggers for precise shooting. Reviews of people who have received the other 19 Sporting Carbines have been excellent. These make wonderful hunting rifles where size and weight matter. They are also great for general piurpose recreational shooting. I had to order 20 of these to have them special made and after this last one is sold, that will be the end. Being limited production, non-catalogued rifles, they are sure to appreciate in value over time. No second chances on this offer. Nineteen down, one to go!
