An elegant and uncommon German Heerin style single shot rifle by
Nagel & Minz, believed chambered in
10.15 x 60MM. Nagel & Minz were regarded as high-end makers operating from
Strasburg and Baden, and this rifle reflects the refined workmanship associated with late 19th / early 20th century German sporting arms.
The action is beautifully finished with
fine scroll engraving accented by engraved banners displaying the maker’s name. The rifle remains in
original condition throughout and retains
strong case colors, giving it excellent collector appeal.
The
27 3/4" barrel has an
excellent bore. Sighting equipment consists of a
fixed rear sight and an additional flip-up rear sight, allowing for flexibility at varying distances.
The stockwork is particularly attractive, featuring a
well figured walnut stock, a
well-defined capped pistol grip, and an elegant
Alex Henry style profile that gives the rifle exceptionally pleasing lines. A thoughtful period feature is the
hinged storage compartment in the buttstock, and the rifle is accompanied by an
extra firing pin.
