Albert Barnes (of Ulverston, England) Single Shot 7x57R Rifle with Zeiss Scope and Extra 16 Gauge Barrel
Description: Here is a fantastic two-barrel set by Albert Barnes of Ulverston (Cumbria, England.) The rifle barrel is in 7x57r. The length is 25.5" and the bore is excellent. There is a ramped front sight, grooved for a hood. There is a raised quarter rib with a rear sight consisting of one standing leaf and a folding leaf marked for 200 yards. The rib is grooved to accept quick-detach rings which hold a Zeiss 6x32 scope with duplex reticle and excellent optics. The action has tear-drop fences, and features the maker's name in a flowing banner, surrounded by scroll engraving. The firing pin is bushed and removable. The fore-end has an ebony schnabel tip with a push-button release. The fore-end has a wooden liner for use with the rifle barrel. (See photo.) The figured straight-grip walnut stock has a 14 1/8" LOP. The 16 gauge shotgun barrel is 28" with a 2 1/2" chamber and excellent bore. It is choked .026 (about improved modified.) The weight of the rifle is: (scoped) 7 lbs 8 oz; (unscoped) 6 lbs 10 oz and (with the shotgun barrel) 5 lbs 5 oz. A very classy English single shot in a great chambering.
