Alexander Henry falling block rifle, .450 3 1/4" BP Express
Description: This rifle was made for Charles Hay the 20th Earl of Errol and 3rd Baron of KIlmarnock and owner of Slains Castle. The serial number is 3420. This rifle was totally restored in England and the 14 1/2 pull stock has no scratces or dents and has very good figure. The engraving is crisp except for the name on the barrel is thin. The action and right hand cranked lock operate as new. This rifle has a 28" steel barrel with original block mounted sights and a flip up leaf sight on the rear sight. The butt plate is engraved steel and the grip cap is horn the forend has a fluted end and cross key grip are in excellent condition, checkering is excellent and wood to metal fit is as new..Weight is 6 lbs 7 oz. This was made a a BEST GRADE rifle. THE RIFLE WAS BORED OUT TO A 28 gauge shotgun and now sleeved to the original .450 3 1/4' caliber.. The bore is obviously as new.
