German 8x72R Lefaucheux action stalking rifle, signed Ant. Sonderwald in Neulengbach

Description:
A very nice hammer German made single shot stalking rifle  in the black powder era Lefaucheux action. But barrel is proofed for the 8x72 nitro cartridge introduced by Breneche . Rifle is in good overall original condition with very slight freckleing on the barrel and other metal parts but doesn't take away from the overall good condition of the rifle. Bore is in excellent condition  as is the wood. Rear sight is of a target style with quick adjustability. Under lever is steel and is covered with engraving as is the action and rest of the metal. There are two wedge inserts in the rib where there was some type of scope mounts mounted at some time. Cartridge cases are available through Buffalo Arms as are loading dies. A very easy cartridge to load and is great for deer with lead or copper bullets of proper size. This would make a great lead slug gun for stalking rifle shoots. A very good original finish rifle
