FIRMA SUHLER WAFFEN EXPORT HAUS / SPECIAL GUN MANUFACTURERS / SUHL GERMAMY 16 / 7x57
Description: CONSIDER TRADE FOR HIGH GRADE, HIGH CONDITION SINGLE SHOT RIFLE
Circa 1929, beautiful combination 16 over the desirable 7x57R made by a company formed by a group of Suhl gunmakers who’s plan was to make high grade sporting arms for export to the US. The company failed at about the time this piece was manufactured. Timing is everything and 1929 was not the optimum time to rely on the US dollar to keep you afloat.
Double Kirsten receiver, trigger guard and cartridge trap are 100% covered with fine scroll engraving and 6 beautifully detailed gold inlays, including a bull elk, a doe with fawn, 2 geese and a pair of pigeons. TL opener with cocking indicators top tang safety and set trigger for rifle barrel. Barrels are 27” with mint bores, full length rib with 1 folding rear sight, sling swivals and claw mount bases. Well figured circ walnut cheekpiece stock with full pistol grip, horn grip cap and checkered BP with all of it’s original finish and perfectly executed fine checkering on grip and forend. Overall wonderful condition with crisp edges 98% barrel blue, and hardly a handling mark.
