High condition and all-matching Russian SKS, made by Izhevsk in 1953, a manufacturer that only made these rifles in 1952 and 1953. A classic semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm with a 20.5-inch barrel, adjustable sights, fixed ten-round magazine, folding bayonet, and a mirror bore.
Description:
Standard configuration and all-matching Russian made Izhevsk SKS semi-automatic rifle in 7.62x39mm caliber, manufactured 1953, SN:56, with 20.5-inch barrel, height-adjustable post front sight and tangent rear sight graduated 1-10 for range. Top of receiver bridge marked w/ Izhevsk arrow in a triangle within a circle and year marking 1953 followed by Cyrillic "r". The right side of receiver shows serial number "56" with additional Cyrillic markings, proofs, and very faint import marks on the barrel. Fitted with laminated hardwood stock, full matching SN on left side, military-style finish, and blued metal trapdoor buttplate. Ten-round fixed magazine with hinged floorplate for stripper clip loading and folding spike-bayonet.
Condition:
Near excellent original condition with just a few small handling marks, most noticeable on top of the receiver just above the production year. Crisp, in-the-white bolt, without staining. Laminated stock hardwood stock with scattered handling scuffs as carefully pictured. Bright bayonet without any discoloration or suggestion of polishing. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. A wonderful Russian made SKS rifle from the Izhevsk factory in 1953, no longer importable into the United States.
