Description:
Standard configuration and all-matching Russian made Tula Arsenal SKS semi-automatic rifle in 7.62x39mm caliber, made in 1950, SN:CCCP42815, with 20.5-inch barrel, height-adjustable post front sight and tangent rear sight graduated 1-10 for range. Top of receiver bridge marked w/ Tula Arsenal arrow w/in 5-pointed star and year marking 1950 followed by Cyrillic “r”. All matched to originally applied SN: ??996. The right side of receiver shows later applied import number “CCCP42815” with other markings as ATF-required. Fitted with hardwood stock, matching ”996” left side of buttstock, military-style finish, and blued metal trapdoor buttplate. Ten-round fixed magazine with hinged floorplate for stripper clip loading and folding spike-bayonet.
Condition:
VG-EXC original condition with handling marks and scuffs, particularly on the left side of the stock, as often found on the early production, bulk-imported rifles from 50 years ago. Salt blued parts with at least 98% of their bright original finish except the bolt cover an arguable arsenal redip. Crisp, in-the-white bolt, with minimal staining. Bright bayonet, the in-the-white portion having been lightly cleaned. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. A wonderful and all-matching Russian made SKS rifle from the Tula Arsenal in 1950, no longer importable into the United States.
