This all original and all-matching Tula Arsenal SKS made in 1953, is a post-WWII Russian semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, with a 20.5-inch barrel, adjustable sights, and a folding bayonet. A classic Russian rifle from the early post-war period that is no longer importable.
Description:
Standard configuration and all-matching Russian made Tula Arsenal SKS semi-automatic rifle in 7.62x39mm caliber, manufactured 1953, SN:56, with 20.5-inch barrel, height-adjustable post front sight and tangent rear sight graduated 1-10 for range. Top of receiver bridge marked w/ Tula Arsenal arrow w/in 5-pointed star and year marking 1953 followed by Cyrillic "r". The right side of receiver shows serial number "492" with additional Cyrillic markings, proofs, and very faint import marks on the barrel. Fitted with hardwood stock, arsenal marking, year of production and full SN on left side of buttstock, military-style finish, and blued metal trapdoor buttplate. Ten-round fixed magazine with hinged floorplate for stripper clip loading and folding spike-bayonet.
Condition:
Near excellent original condition with just a few small handling marks as typically found on these bulk-imported rifles from 50 years ago. Crisp, in-the-white bolt, without staining. Laminated stock hardwood stock with scattered handling scuffs as carefully pictured. Bright bayonet without any discoloration or suggestion of polishing. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. A wonderful Russian made SKS rifle from the Tula Arsenal in 1953, no longer importable into the United States.
