WWII German Mauser Model 98 Sniper Rifle
Description: WWII German Mauser Model 98 Sniper Rifle With Hensoldt-Wetzlar Scope Here we present a Mauser Model 98 Sniper Rifle, made circa 1942 in Oberndorf, Germany. This rifle is equipped with a Hensoldt-Wetzlar scope with a German post reticle. The scope and the rifle are marked with Schutzstaffel “death’s head” markings (left side of the barrel, stock behind the trigger guard, and left side of the scope). The left side of the scope also bears the “SS” runes and “Dienstglas”. The left side of the receiver is marked “Mod. 98”. The left side of the barrel has been partially effaced and renumbered “3707” to match. Triggers are very crisp, light and double set. Rear iron sight is graduated to 2000 meters. The overall condition is very good. 65% blue finish. The markings are legible. Numbers on the outside of the magazine assembly differ and the barrel was force matched. Other numbers on the receiver and various parts of the bolt assembly match. The bore is sharp and bright. The stock is smooth and solid. The action on this rifle is excellent. Scope is clear.
