Serial No. 15761, circa 1863, .52 caliber, 22"" six-groove round barrel. Barrel has frosting and pitting visible in the lands and grooves. Barrel is a brown patina with spotted oxidation visible. Receiver is grey with the edges turning to a lighter grey patina. Stock has expected nicks, dings and scratches. The letter ""I"" is carved on each side of the buttstock and on the left side of the forearm. Action is smooth and functions correctly, great example of a Civil War carbine that was used!
