High Condition Indian Wars Era Burnside Spencer Model 1865 Repeating Carbine
Description: Priced to sell! Manufactured between April 1865 to 1866, the Spencer Model 1865 carbine was introduced in service right at the conclusion of the American Civil War, and the strong majority saw significant hard use by both the U.S. military and civilians during the Indian Wars and westward expansion. As a lever action repeater that uses a seven round tubular magazine, the Spencer carbines had an edge in firepower over many firearms of the time. This attractive example has much of its original blue finish showing on the barrel with crisp rifling in the bore, and strong patterns of original case colors on the frame and components. The lightly restored walnut forearm and buttstock have an outer glossy protective coating applied on them, with the left of the buttstock bearing the original crisp stamped “ESA” bordered inspection cartouche of Erskine S. Allin, Springfield Armory’s master armorer. The gun is mechanically excellent, with crisp clicks in the lock. If you have been looking for a fine Indian Wars era Spencer carbine, then look no further. Price includes shipping in the 48 states. Layaway is also an option. As an antique, this can ship directly to your doorstep in most states! Antique: Yes Rifle Caliber: .50 Spencer, .56-50 Spencer Manufacturer: Burnside Rifle Co.
