SPENCER SPORTING RIFLE IN CALIBER 56-46 RF
Description:
26 inch round barrel with a bore that has some light scattered roughness throughout. Sights include a blade front and folding ladder rear while missing the original tang sight. Overall metal shows traces of original finish with the balance turning a plum/brown color. Nice action. Deluxe wood is in generally good condition with a fair amount of finish remaining. Correct rifle buttplate. There were about 1,800 sporting rifles made and most had the 26 inch round barrels chambered in the Spencer 56-46 bottleneck cartridge. They did make an octagon version as well. Good looking Spencer rifle that shows no signs of abuse.
