Springfield Armory M1A Standard Semi-Auto Rifle is a direct descendant of one of the most respected, long-range battle rifles in the world: the selective-fire M14 service rifle. The M1A Standard uses the same basic platform as the M14, with enhancements to elevate accuracy potential. The medium-weight, carbon-steel barrel features 6-groove rifling with a 1:11 rate-of-twist rifling. An M14 birdcage flash suppressor minimizes flash signature at night. The oil-finished, walnut stock is true to the original, as well as the parkerized steel finish. A steel fold-out butt plate stows the original military M14 cleaning and oiling kit (not included). The handguard is synthetic. A 2-stage military trigger produces unsurpassed reliability. The rear aperture sight adjusts for elevation and windage in 1 MOA clicks. The rear sight features fine checkering on the back side to reduce glare, and protective wings that guard the sight from abuse. The front sight also has protective wings; and the front sight assembly adjusts for windage.
