A Very Early U.S. Military Issued Model 1868 Springfield Rifle
Description: A Very Early U.S. Military Issued Model 1868 Springfield Rifle In Fine Untouched Condition. Made by the "Springfield Armory" from 1868-1872. Serial #32,174, all matching numbers. Made in .50 caliber. The rifle has fine metal & markings throughout with fine edges. Dated "1870/Eagle/US" on top of the breech block. The lock is marked "U.S. Springfield" & Dated "1863". All of the metal on the rifle has a light untouched patina on it. All of the wood on it is fine throughout with very nice edges. There is a fine "U.S. Inspectors Cartouche" on the backside. The rifle has an excellent bore and action in it. This Is A Fine Untouched Example Of A Very Early U.S. Military Issued Model 1868 Springfield Rifle!
