With so many of these being nothing but worthless cut down rifles, it is always nice to get a real Carbine. This is a standard 1896 SRC in all respects with 1896 model on frame, JSA 1898 cartouche and C marked 1896 carbine rear sight. Every single part on this gun conforms with the Krag books as correct for this model. Finish is amazing with at least 98% original factory high polish blue on barrel. At least 80% blue on frame and side plate. 50% blue brown on trigger guard. 60% or better blue on magazine. Butt plate is basically blue patina mix. Wood superb, never touched, with perfect cartouche. Even the saddle ring and bar retain most of the original fire blue as well. Mirror bore and like new action. A very very high condition SRC from the Spanish American War. Antique so can ship anywhere. SALES HOLD
