Very scarce service-grade, PRE WWII 1903 Springfield A1 - very good to excellent cond.Fully cartouched, 3-39 SA BBL / RIA receiver
Description: Offered is a very high appearence, pre-WWII 1903A1 Springfield that appears to have been assembled at the Springfield Armory prior to WWII. Like most service grade, pre-war A1s, this example is a rebuild - based on a high-number, 1918 production RIA receiver, with an immaculate SA 3-39 BBL. The appropriate pre-war C-stock is marked with the correct SA SPG cartouche, not once, but twice. It is also marked with what I believe to be an Anniston Arsenal cartouche that was probably applied during one of the many overhaul and check and test programs conducted by the Army after WWII. It also has a number of inspector's markings in the cut-off switch well. The rifle is probably best described as a rebuild of a rebuild, but is still composed exclusively of likely pre-war components. The bore is bright & sharp and looks virtually new. The stock was lightly sanded, probably at Anniston, but all cartouches are UNSANDED and guarranteed to be absolutley genuine. The overall condition since the final re-build is about 90% - with a little finish loss on a few sharp edges and on top of the rear receiver bridge. The wood is very good to excellent, with little apparent wear and tear since leaving the arsenal. Service grade, pre-war 03A1s are getting tough to find, especially in nice condition. As with all my offerings, your absolute satisfaction is guaranteed. There is a 3-day, non-firing, no disassembly inspection period - no questons asked. All items must be returned in the same condition in which they were shipped - no exceptions. Buyer pays all shipping and transfer fees.
