***SOLD***1956 Manufactured Springfield M1 Garand chambered in .30-06 Springfield ** National Match Front and Rear Sights **
Description: ****SOLD**** Presented here is an excellent example of a post-Korean War Springfield M1 Garand. Manufactured in 1956, this M1 Garand is comprised of almost all Springfield components with the exception of the front and rear sights. The original parkerized finish across the entire rifle is in fantastic condition with the only deductions being a handful of scattered handling marks and some light high-edge wear. The Springfield stock is in great overall condition and shows no signs of cracks or major damage just various scattered handling marks/compression dents. The upper handguard is in similarly great condition but does have a hairline crack right at the middle band. The stock does have the correct P proof and correct DOD cartouche. The Springfield barrel is original to the receiver ( 3-56 ) and is in excellent condition with strong rifling, no signs of pitting, and gauges at a "1" at the muzzle and "1" at the throat. All the factory markings are crystal clear and the action is still tight. As previously stated, the front and rear sights have been changed out to National Match sights. Both sights are in excellent condition and the rear sight functions flawlessly. The rear sight does show a small amount of red paint on the left and right dials that the previous owner used as a quick visual reference. This rifle would be an outstanding addition to any military collection and/or a fantastic range rifle. Included with this rifle is a GIsling.
