Description:
U.S. Springfield Armory M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. May 1944 receiver manufacture date and SA barrel dated "5-44" along with a W.R.A. bolt. SA operating rod and trigger housing. Unmarked walnut stock. Appears to have been converted for drill/parade purposes at some point in its long life. Subsequently, welds removed at the receiver/barrel juncture, cylinder lock screw and gas cylinder cut through for gas venting. Gas Cylinder lock and lock screw also cut to remove another weld. Comes with a "BOYT/44" marked M1907 leather sling. .30-06 Springfield
