Description: From a nationally known Krag collector, contributing author and collector. A High Condition, US SPRINGFIELD, M 1899 Krag Carbine. Serial number 3582xx, 30-40 Krag Cal. Excellent condition throughout. Mechanically excellent, all features function as they should. The receiver finish and markings are excellent. The bore is bright without any pitting or frosting. The bore has very good rifling. All parts are complete and correct. The rear sight is the correct Carbine "C" marked sights. The 1901 hi humped handguard is correct for the rear Carbine sight. The correct front sight blade is a matching Carbine "C" sight blade. The Walnut stock has its original finish. The stock has the correct 1901 cartouche and circle "P" fire proof. Included is a original 3 piece cleaning rod set and oiler in the stock butt trap compartment. . This Carbine was manufactured in range of carbines issued to the 6th Cavalry.
