"Rare U.S. Springfield model 1870 Trapdoor carbine .50-70 (AL7434)

"

Rare U.S. Springfield Model 1870 trapdoor carbine chambered in 50-70 with a 22"" barrel. Barrel is grey to blue with pin-prick oxidation visible. Receiver is still in the black, lock plate is a dull blue finish. Wood shows usage and handling wear, bore is good with strong rifling noted. Only 341 were ever manufactured, scarce martial carbine.
