"U.S. Springfield Model 1877 Trapdoor carbine .45-70 (AL10104)

Serial No. 87121, circa early 1878, 45-70, 22"" round barrel. Bore is bright and shiny with light areas of frosting visible in the grooves, rifling remains strong. Metal is starting to thin to a brown patina with scattered light surface pitting visible. Breech is marked ""U.S./MODEL/1873"". Lock plate is marked with ""Eagle-U.S./SPRINGFIELD"". Stock is in very good plus condition with handsome cartouche visible left side.""ESA/1877"". Action is smooth and functions correctly. Great example of an ""APACHE WARS carbine!
