Springfield - Trap Door -1873 – Gimmer Hawken/English - 45-70 - Stk #C410

This Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Gimmer Hawken/English is chambered in 45-70.  It has a 30-¼” blued octagon 1” barrel. The finish is slightly worn on both the barrel and the receiver. The bore is in very good condition. The barrel is mounted with a fixed front blade sight and an adjustable Hawken buckhorn sight. The receiver is in good condition as well. “US Springfield” is stamped on the lock plate next to the spread eagle with 1863 on the back end of the plate. The color case hardened breech block has patented “US / MODEL / 1873” is stamped on the breech block next to the hinge. The Gimmer/English style Walnut wood stock with a check pad is in good condition with the exception of usage dings and a repaired crack in front of the lock plate. The English style furniture is browned steel buttplate, trigger guard and thimbles with a German silver patch box. Metal to wood fit is good. The length of pull is 14-1/8”, the overall length is 49-3/4”, and the weight is 11 lbs. Our stock number is C410
Please Note: There are 2 repaired cracks in front of the lock plate. One is about 8” in length going under the escutcheon of the first wedge. The other is about 1.5” in length.
