Stock is in good condition with sharp 1884 cartouche. Some added finish over handling mars on the wood. A good looking example of the Model 1879. This is a U.S. Springfield Model 1879 (1873/1879) Trapdoor Rifle Essentially a Model 1873 with 1879 improvements. These guns are found in the 100,000 to 280,000 serial number range.
