Description: SALE PENDING!!! Springfield Armory Model 1879 45-70 32” barrel- This rifle is an antique Springfield Armory model 1879 trapdoor chambered in 45-70. The lockplate and breech have 1873 dates, but serial number and cartouche on stock date the rifle at 1882. The rifle has a U.S. stamp on butt plate and proofs on stock. Rifle has a good bore and rifling. Rifle has front sight hood and adjustable ladder rear sight. The stock has several dents and a couple of chips in stock from use.
