U.S. Springfield Model 1877 Trapdoor .45-70 caliber carbine. Metal is a grey patina. Looks to have been cleaned some time ago. Bore has strong rifling with some area of pitting. Stock is good has a faint second style inspector’s cartouche. Rear sight is missing its elevation piece. Carbine comes with original cleaning kit in buttstock. These were added due to the Custer Massacre! Overall a good-looking carbine that came about due to the Battle of Little Bighorn.
