Description: Commercially produced during the 1880's period with 30" heavy octagon Bbl and marked 40/65 over chamber. Using US Govt 1873 High Arch Breech block and action with US Springfield 1873 lock and hardware. These Sporting rifles are the Buffalo rifles offered by Hartley & Graham , Meacham Arms and others such as Lovell Arms of the period.. Checkered one piece walnut stocks with Modified steel butt plate with trap for cleaning components. Blade front sight and military Sharps Rifle rear sight. Smooth single trigger with Museum tag from the collection of the J.M. Davis Arms collection in Clearmore OK. . Condition. Very fine with mottle blue finish mixed with patina. Bore is very strong with areas of roughness. The stock is very fine with period of use bruises.
