"U.S. Springfield Model 1903 Bolt Action Rifle – .30-06 (L2025-11437)

"Serial No. 966988, manufactured in 1918, chambered in .30-06, with a 24" round barrel clearly marked “S.A. / [Flaming Bomb] / 1-18", indicating Springfield Armory January 1918 production. The metal finish has gently worn to a light grey patina, consistent with a rifle that saw service and was well preserved over time. The walnut stock remains in good condition, showing expected light handling marks and is stamped with a clear “C-S.A.A." cartouche, identifying inspection or refurbishment. Under the stock is marked “K" indicating replacement from keystone marker. The action is smooth and functions correctly, making this a fine example of a late-WWI production M1903. Its configuration suggests it has retained a significant degree of originality, offering collectors a representative piece of America's primary infantry rifle from the Great War.
