Offered is an excellent, used example of the Model 03a3 Springfield made by Smith Corona, in August 1943. It is in superb 95-96%, condition and has not been marked as re-arsenaled/rebuilt. IMPORTANT NOTE: I mistakenly listed the rifle as having a 3/43 barrel date in my original posting, 8-43 is the correct date. My apologies for the error. There is also conflicting info about the date at which bolts were substituted for stock pins, with a switch-over date of 10/43 being stated by an outside source that I'm not personally familiar with. However, I am adjusting the price to reflect an excellent used example as oppossed to an unissued one.It still bears the full suite of inspector's markings correct for SC and all components are in near-new condition. The blued bolt has the usual friction marks on the body but the overall finish is almost flawless. The four groove barrel is marked SC and dated 8/43. The bore is immaculate and gauges 0003.025 - or almost dead bang new. It exihibits the typical WWII greenish manganeese parked finish, with a mixture of blued components that is typical of an arsenal fresh SC 03a3. It also comes with a period correct, excellent condition flat-buckle sling and a Gotham front sight cover. There is a three business day, non-firing, no disassembly inspection period that is calculated from the time the item is received by the FFL holder, after which all sales will be deemed final. Shipping is an additional $135.00 insured, and the rifle ships in a hard case. I prefer to ship to a current FFL holder who will accept long-arm shipments from a non-FFL hplder if possible.
