Rock Island Arsenal model 1903 w/ Frank Krack cartouche WWII unissued rebuilt condition w/FB sling-beautiful!
Description: Offered for sale is an exceptionally handsome example of the RIA 1903 "Springfield". It bears the inspector's cartouche of Frank Krack, typical for rifles rebuilt at the RIA between 1941, when FK took charge of the rebuild program and 1946 when he retired. The barrel is marked and dated SA 3/39. The bore is immaculate and gauges 0003.04 - or virtually new. This exquisite rifle has the typical WWII manganeese parked finish with a mixture of NOS components, including the stock set. The rifle also sports a scarce RIA straight handle nickel steel bolt body from 1918. It exhibits a pleasing greenish "cosmoline sheen" on the parked surfaces due to long term storage in heavy greese. It also comes with a period correct, excellent condition flat bucklesling and a Gotham sight cover. Any high-grade WWII US weapons collection would be greatly enhanced with the addition of this outstanding piece. There is a three business day, non-firing, no disassembly inspection period that is calculated from the time the item is received by the FFL holder, after which all sales will be considered final. All items must ship to a current FFL holder who will accept long arm shipments from a non-FFL shipper via the USPS. IMPORTANT: Although there are no known defects or issues concerning the safety or functionality of this firearm, there are no guarantees, real or implied on any used firearm sale. ALSO: Safety and proper maintenance is the sole responsibilty of the purchaser/user. It is strongly recommended that any used firearm be inspected by a competent, liscensed gunsmith prior to firing.
