Description:
Standard configuration Springfield Model 1903 rifle, SN 905044, chambered in .30-06, has blade front and ladder style (graded 1-27) rear sights, barrel marked "SA/flaming bomb/2-18", standard receiver markings that reflect manufacturer, model, and SN, and straight bolt. Smooth straight grip "S" stock with finger grooves, high hump handguard with sighting channel, light inspection cartouche appears to be an eagle head/Y59, double reinforcing bolts, and smooth steel trapdoor buttplate.
Condition:
G/VG overall condition with faded original blue in the usual contact areas, particularly noticeable on left side of bayonet mount. Stock with original varnish, oil darkening, and scattered bruising. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. A nice, honest, U.S Springfield Armory 1903 rifle.
