It has a fixed dovetailed serrated ramp front sight, an adjustable "ladder" rear sight, a steel butt plate with a trap door, and sling loops top, middle and bottom. The top of the receiver is marked "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY / MODEL 1903 / 939219". The top of the barrel is marked "S A / flaming bomb / 9 – 42". The safety is marked "SAFE READY" and the magazine cutoff is marked "ON OFF". The barrel band is marked "U". The bayonet lug is marked "H". The bottom of the bolt handle is marked "R" and with two punch marks. The action functions correctly. The Model 1903 Springfield is an American five-round magazine-fed, bolt-action service repeating rifle, used primarily during the first half of the 20th century.
