Very good condition, shows moderate battle wear, 24" H.S. barrel dated 9-44. The Springfield 1903 Mark 1 was only produced from 1918-1920 and were modified 1903s to work with the Pederson Device. The Pederson Device was a handgun in the shape of a 1903 bolt that would be inserted and loaded with 40 round magazines to increase the close range firepower of American troops. To accommodate the pistol rounds a small extraction port was cut out on the side of the receiver. An interesting and historical gun for collectors. .30-06 Springfield
