U.S. Springfield model 1873 ""first model carbine"" chambered in 45-70. This is a rifle that has been cut down to look like a 1st model carbine. Metal is a mottled grey patina, bore is good with strong rifling noted. Wood shows usage and wear, cleaning rod channel has been expertly filled in. Action functions correctly, breech has a tight lock up. Here is a good chance to own a "" 1st model carbine""!
