We are offering for sale a US Springfield MODEL 1863 Rifled Musket chambered in .58 caliber. The rifle remains in good to very good fully functioning condition.
40" barrel is very good with bright finish. Rifle sights intact. The bore remains clean with traces of original rifling intact. Ramrod intact. Barrel bands correctly marked with "U". The barrel is dated "1863" aside the eagle marked bolster. Lockplate has bright finish and is crisply marked "US Springfield" and dated "1863"; It features a nice eagle mark. Hammer and trigger function flawlessly. Trigger guard and buttplate feature bright finish; The latter is marked with "US" marking. The full length wood remains very good without breaks or cracks.
